Struggling With Primary School Maths? Join Our Live Q and A for Parents

Maths Q and A – Let's Chat About Helping Your Child

I’ve been getting more and more questions lately from parents wanting to know how to help their children with maths. Whether it’s confusion around number bonds, times tables, or what’s expected at their child’s grade level—there’s a real need to better understand how maths is taught and how to support it at home.

So, I’ve decided to create a space for us to talk about it.

On Thursday 22 May 2025, from 7–8pm, I’ll be hosting a Maths Q and A—and you’re invited.

This is not a presentation. There won’t be slides, no screen sharing, no teaching from a whiteboard. It’s not a lecture.

Instead, this is a relaxed conversation where I’ll be answering your questions—so you can get real, practical help that makes sense for your child and situation.

A space for you to bring the real questions you have—whether your child is in Grade R or Grade 7—and I’ll do my best to give clear, practical answers. I’ll share insights into how children understand maths at different stages, how various concepts build on each other, and where things often get “stuck.” And, most importantly, how you as a parent can support the process in ways that actually make a difference.

Whether you're feeling stuck with homework time, unsure what your child is supposed to know, or wondering if they're ahead, behind, or somewhere in between—this Q and A is for you.

This session is here to help you:

  • Understand where your child is at in their maths learning

  • See where they’re heading next

  • Find simple, doable ways to support them at home

There’s no such thing as a silly question. If you’re unsure how to phrase something or aren’t even sure what to ask, that’s okay too. Just come along, listen in, and take what’s helpful for you.

How to join

Booking is simple. Just follow this link to sign up. When you book, there’s a space to pop in your question. This gives me a chance to prepare some answers ahead of time, especially if there are common themes.

I’ll be prepared to cover a range of questions about primary school maths Grade R-7, from early number sense in Grade R right through to the more abstract concepts in the intermediate phase. So no matter where your child is on their maths journey, you’re welcome.

I’m really looking forward to this. It’s something a little different—a chance to connect directly with you, answer the questions that matter most, and hopefully leave you feeling more confident and equipped when it comes to supporting your child’s maths learning.

So if you’ve got questions—bring them.
Thursday 22 May 2025 , 7–8pm.
Let’s talk.
