Fair Exchange: Support for Your Homeschooling Journey

Hi there, fellow homeschooling parent! If you're here, you're probably looking for guidance, answers, or just a bit of reassurance on this homeschooling path. And I get it—homeschooling can feel overwhelming at times. But the good news? You don’t have to do it alone.

Over the years, I’ve had countless conversations with parents who are searching for help—whether it’s understanding curriculum choices, structuring a homeschool day, navigating challenges with kids of different ages, or simply needing encouragement. I truly love supporting families in this space and have been doing so for years. But, as much as I’d love to be able to offer unlimited free advice, there’s a reality I have to acknowledge—time is valuable.

I’ve spent over 20 years in education, working with children from ages 2 to 18, and have built up a wealth of experience in various educational settings. I am happy to share my expertise, but as with any professional service, there needs to be a fair exchange. I know that not everyone is in a position to pay for professional consulting, and I completely understand that. Sometimes you may just have a few questions or need general information. That’s why I’ve created different options—some free, some based on an exchange of time, and some paid consultations for those who need a deeper level of support.

1. Time for Time – A Free Consultation in Exchange for Supporting My Channel

I offer a 30-60 minute one-on-one homeschooling consultation in exchange for a minimum of one hour of watch time on my HOMESCHOOL WITH ANGELA YouTube channel.

Why do I do this? Because it’s a win-win! You get answers to your general homeschooling questions, and in return, you help my channel grow so that I can continue offering support to more families. Plus, by watching my content, you will hopefully find even more helpful insights that you didn’t even know you needed!

2. Written Q&A in Exchange for a Review/Recommendation

If you prefer a written response, you can submit up to 5-10 general homeschooling-related questions, and I will provide clear, concise answers via email. In exchange, I simply ask that you leave an honest review or recommendation on social media and online rating platforms. I’ll even provide the links, so it’s quick and easy!

This option is great if you prefer having written guidance that you can refer back to, or if you’re looking for quick but thoughtful answers to your specific concerns. By adding a recommendation of my services, it highlights this option for other parents also in search of answers.

3. Weekly Online Homeschooling Support Group – R185/term

Homeschooling can feel isolating at times, but it doesn’t have to be. Every Monday evening from 7:30 - 8:10 PM (except during school holidays), I host an online support group for homeschooling moms. It’s a safe space where you can ask questions, get encouragement, reflect on your journey, and be equipped for the week ahead.

This group does have a Christian emphasis, as I speak from my faith and reliance on the Holy Spirit, but everyone is welcome to join. The exchange is a small termly membership fee of R185, and you’re free to unsubscribe at any time.

4. Personalized Paid Consultations

For those who need a deeper, more tailored approach, I offer one-on-one consultations at the following rates:

  • R250 for a 1-hour verbal consultation (no written summary)

  • R450 for a 1-hour consultation that includes a detailed written summary with recommendations and a projected plan

If you want to draw from my 20+ years of experience in education, this option gives you focused, in-depth guidance specific to your homeschooling needs.

 If you have a good think about life and everything around us, it will be quite evident that what we see and experience is not in isolation at all. We experience life with many influences that are constantly around us.  The idea of individual school subjects may be easier to manage in some schooling situations but it isn't really a true reflection of the "real world", where  everything is connected.
